KNIGHTS 8A BOYS NEWS

EYE RUNNING THE TABLE AT WALNUT WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Feb. 7, 2007
After a poor 2-3 start in the FAVC this year, the Knights continue to pull it all together as they completed their 4th win in a row. Little Miami had their eyes set on leaving the Mill with 2 upsets Monday night but a strong 4th quarter spurred the Knights on to another victory.

Kings took a commanding 18-9 lead into the locker room at halftime, but Little Miami came out inspired in the 3rd quarter putting up 20 points, the most the 8th grade team has given up in one quarter all year, closing the gap to 30-29 at the end of 3 quarters of play.

Blake Bates once again stepped up with a big 4th quarter putting in 7 points driven by outstanding offensive rebounding that has defined the second half of the season for Blake.  Jason Crull lead all scorers with 16 and took responsibility to stop Little Miami's streak shooter from scoring in the final 3 minutes to secure the win.

Little Miami has faced a great deal of adversity this year, losing their star player early this season for discipline reasons. The performance Little Miami gave Monday night was impressive and I'm sure an encouragement to a coach that choose to make the difficult decisions.Little Miami will be a team not to be overlooked come tournament time.

The Knights eye Walnut Hills in a critical game Wednesday night that will lift the team into 2nd place with a win.

KNIGHTS ARE THE VICTOR!

January 31, 2007
The Knights dominated every aspect of the game as they doubled the Hurricanes score 40-19. Another great defensive effort as Wilmington was held scoreless for over 12 consecutive minutes. Blake Bates and Jason Crull lead a total team offensive attack.  A well-deserved long bus ride home for the Hurricanes.

Two games left in the regular season as the Knights set their eyes on running the table the second time through the conference.

PAYBACK: KNIGHTS GIVE NAGEL SILVER (TURPIN) FIRST LOSS OF FAVC SEASON

 January 30, 2007
In what proved to be another great Kings - Turpin battle, the Knights went on a 8-2 run in the final two minutes of the game to give Nagel Silver it's first loss of the FAVCC season.  Blake Bates rebound basket with :01:8 seconds remaining capped off the comeback. Blake lead all scorers with 12 points. Steve Michalak and Kyle Schumacher hit four key fourth quarter free throws under pressure to help fuel the late comeback.

KNIGHTS BLAST BARONS

January 24, 2007
The Kings Knights came out in full force for the first time in the FAVC season to overpower the Amelia Barrons 57-21. Another very solid defensive game for the Knights and one of the better offensive team performances. Blake Bates, Steve Michalak and Jonny Brewster all scored in double figures as the Knights had 8 in the scoring column.

KNIGHTS COME UP SHORT AGAINST WALNUT HILLS

January 22, 2007
The Knights defense did an outstanding job keeping pressure on the ball, forcing 20 Walnut Hill turnovers, but a dry scoring spell in the 2nd and 3rd period proved to much to overcome in the final frame.  Vince Lombardi would have said we didn't get beat, we just ran out of time as Kings outscored Walnut Hills 13-6 in the final period.  Rematch February 7th at Walnut Hills.

The 8th grade Knights enter the half-way point of the FAVC with a 2-3 record.   The Knights face Amelia Wednesday night as they make the 2nd round through the FAVC conference and an opportunity to avenge loses from the first half of the season and prepare for the end of season tournament.   Several hard lessons learned the first half of the season will make these young men better athletes in the long run.

Come support the Knights in the 2nd trip through the FAVC with home games coming up against Wilmington and Little Miami.  A lot of basketball left to play and the opportunity to step it up <http://www.212movie.com/> a degree!

KNIGHTS POUNCE PANTHERS

January 17, 2007
The Knights jumped out to a 17-2 first quarter lead Wednesday night at Little Miami and cruised to 48-34 win. The Knights got big games from Kyle Schumacher, Travis Huddleson and David Parker. No matter what defense Little Miami presented the Knights responded. It was an impressive win for the team!

Go Knights!

KNIGHTS FLY OVER BARONS

January 6, 2006
The Knights returned to the hardwood Wednesday with a 40-29 win over Amelia. The Knights fell behind 2-0 off the tip, but Jason Crull nailed a 3 pointer on the first possession to put the Knights ahead 3-2 and they never looked back. The Knights played very impressive defensive giving up only 13 points in the first three quarters of action. The Knights are at home Monday night against a very good Nagel-Silver team who come in 3-1 overall and undefeated in the FAVC Cardinal division. Come cheer the Knights to victory in a key game on the road to another FAVC Championship. A Better Choice Photography will be taking action photos of the game and have a booth set up to purchase pictures of the Conseco Fieldhouse event.

KNIGHTS AT CONSECO FIELDHOUSE

December 24, 2006
The Jr. High Boys basketball program had a terrific time in Indianapolis on Saturday, December 23rd. The 3rd annual, Kings Knight at Conseco Fieldhouse featured the opportunity for the boys to scrimmage on the home court of the Indiana Pacers and attend an NBA basketball game. Coaches Dave Henke and Alex Garvin led the teams in one of the best events yet in Indiana . We believe we had more smiles and laughs this year than ever before. And more memories for a lifetime.

Photo's are posted at A Better Choice Photography's web site and available to purchase for a souvenir. This year the Pacer's made the NBA Strobe lighting system available and our pictures are even better than ever.

KNIGHTS MOVE INTO BREAK WITH 3-1

December 13, 2006

The Knights finished December strong with a decisive 40-30 win over Loveland in a game that Kings controlled from the opening tip. The Knights doubled Harrsion's score earlier in the week 44-21. Coach Knott is pleased with their strong start to the season. The team now prepares to repeat as Cardinal Division champs as divisional play starts Wednesday January 3rd at home vs. Amelia.
