WOMEN'S VARSITY BASKETBALL NEWS
WALNUT HILLS OVERPOWERS LADY KNIGHTS

With second place in the FAVC Cardinal, up for grabs, the Lady Knights couldn't get by a tough Walnut Hills squad and will have to settle for a third place finish in 2007.
Walnut Hills controlled the game from the opening tip and raced to a 31-18 first half lead. The second half was played fairly close, but the damage was done and the Knights went down to defeat 64-49.
Shelby Kies led the scoring with 17 points, Jasmine Hill and Kylie Baker were also in double figures with 14 and 10, respectively. Emily Leary grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Lady Knights are scheduled to finish the regular season at Glen Este, but due to the weather, that game has not yet been rescheduled.
Conference foe; Turpin, will be the Lady Knights first opponent in the state tournament. The game is slated for Wednesday 2/21 at Milford High School and is scheduled for a 6 pm tip off. Please plan on coming out to support our team!
LADY KNIGHTS FALL SHORT TO PANTHERS

For three quarters, it looked as though the Lady Knights were in position to pull off the upset of the Panthers. Unfortunately, the veteran Little Miami squad pulled away in the fourth quarter, out scoring the Knights 11-5, to secure a 53-45 victory.
The capacity crowd was treated to an exciting game that featured the Lady Knights jumping out to a 16-8 first quarter lead. The Panthers got things going in the second stanza and knotted the score at 26, with a couple late free throws. Still hanging tough, the Lady Knights trailed by only two, after three quarters.
Emily Leary led the attack with 12 points, Shelby Kies added 10.
Special thanks to all of those who attended the game, it was an exciting night for Kings basketball. All of the girls work very hard and it's always special to play in front of a packed house. Hopefully, everyone enjoyed the game and will continue to come out and support the Lady Knights.
The Lady Knights travel to Glen Este on Wednesday and visit Walnut Hills on Saturday, to conclude the regular season. Glen Este and Walnut Hills are both quality opponents and will be very difficult to beat on the road. We could really use some fans! Box Scores
LADY KNIGHTS NIP URSULINE AT THE BUZZER

It looked as though the Lady nights winning streak was going to come to an end on Tuesday night. Luckily it's not over until the final buzzer. Senior Kelly Moffitt stunned the crowd with a three point buzzer beater to steal a one point victory from the Lions.
The game was close throughout, with neither team able gain much of an advantage, the halftime score was knotted at 29. Kings took a slim one point lead into the final stanza.
Clutch free throw shooting; down the stretch, by Devon Shanks and Jasmine Hill, kept the game close and setup Moffitt's heroics.
The win extends the Lady Knights winning streak to four and a pushes their overall mark to 10-7, with three to play.
Kylie Baker led the scoring with 13, Jasmine Hill added 12 and Shelby Kies contributed 11.
Next up for the Knights is Little Miami, on Saturday night. It's Senior Night and the last home game of the year, get there early........the Mill will be rockin. Box Scores
LADY KNIGHTS TAKE OUT MILFORD AND WILMINGTON
LADY KNIGHTS FIGHT BACK to .500 AFTER TWO TOUGH GAMES
The Lady Knights traveled to Turpin and came away with a 61-52 overtime victory and the season sweep. It was a close and hard fought game throughout, with the Knights trailing up until late in the fourth quarter. It looked as thought the Knights would secure the win in regulation with a late flurry, but two Turpin free throws tied the game with under six seconds to play and forced the overtime.
The Lady Knights hosted a tough Springboro squad and came out on the short end of a 63-46 contest. Kings came out strong and led the first quarter 18-14. Springboro recovered and out scored the Knights 32-16 in quarters two and three. The fourth quarter was fairly even, but the Knights could never really solve Springboro's stingy defense. The loss puts Kings at 6-7 overall.
LADY KNIGHTS CRUISES BY AMELIA
The Lady Knights traveled to Amelia Saturday night and cruised to a 61-36 victory. Amelia kept the game close through the first half; trailing by only eight, 28-20. Our girls came out firing on all cylinders in the third quarter; out scoring Amelia 22-9 to put the game away. Jasmine Hill led the way with 16 points, Shelby Kies added 12 and Emily Leary chipped in with 11. The win brings the Lady Knights to 6-6 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
KNIGHTS FIGHT OFF SPARTANS

The Lady Knights also had a big week, beating Mt. Healthy (Box Scores) and Wilmington (Box Scores) by comfortable margins. This Saturday the Lady Knights travel to Little Miami to take on the Lady Panthers... the two teams share the FAVC Cardinal Division lead, so make it a Kings Basketball weekend!
